I am Iman Hemati Moghadam, and I am currently an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Engineering at Vali-e-Asr University (VRU), Iran. Prior to this, I was a research associate under the supervision of Prof. Mark Harman in the Centre for Research on Evolution Search and Testing (CREST) in the Computer Science Department at University College London (UCL).
I received my PhD under the supervision of Dr. Mel Ó Cinnéide from University College Dublin (UCD) in 2014. My PhD dissertation dealt with the issues around improving software quality through means of automated refactoring. I also received a Master degree in Software Engineering under the supervision of Dr. Saeed Parsa from Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) in 2005. My Master dissertation dealt with search based techniques (genetic algorithm) to search for, and recognize, design pattern signatures in C++ code. The implemented approach recognizes partial or distorted implementations of design patterns and can recommend possible refactorings to improve the code.
My primary research interests are software refactoring, software quality, search-based software engineering, software reuse and model-driven development.
Within the context of my research, I have served as a program committee member of International Conference of Software Analysis, Evolution and Reengineering (SANER), North American Search Based Software Engineering (NASBASE), International Workshop on Refactoring (IWoR), and National Conference on Novel Researches on Electronic & Computer Engineering.
I was also reviewer for Journal of IEEE Access ,Journal of Software: Evolution and Process (JSEP), Journal of Systems and Software (JSS), Journal of Automated Software Engineering (ASE), Software Quality Journal (SQJ), Journal of Systems & Information Technology (JSIT), The Computer Journal (ComJ), Software Testing, Verification and Reliability (STVR), and Iranian Journal of Engineering Education (IJEE). I was also external referee for Search Based Software Engineering Conference (SBSE 2012).
